Data Security and Backup
- Backup Restoration (non-server)
Restoration of work-related files (but not configurations) on campus-owned machines from an existing Crashplan backup.
Features/Benefits: This service does not include any data backed up outside of the campus hosted Crashplan service.
Fulfillment: 3-4 business days after submission of request to begin data restoration. Restoration of data depends on total data size and availability of backups.

Onboard a Windows operating system into COE IT's management scope, Install BigFix, domain join, and activate Bitlocker at a minimum.
Fulfillment: 7-10 business days upon receipt of computer, if it meets our standard and minimum standards for access are given.

- macOS Management and Security
Onboard a MacOS operating system into COE IT's management scope, Install BigFix, enroll into Jamf, and activate FileVault at a minimum
Fulfillment: 7-10 business days upon receipt of computer, if it meets our standard and minimum standards for access are given.

- Vulnerability Management
Vulnerability management - scanning for and tracking vulnerabilities in supported operating systems.
Fulfillment: 5 business days.

Account Management
- Account Management
The Account Management service supports the creation, maintenance, and retirement of user accounts within the College of Engineering’s IT environment. This includes onboarding new employees, adjusting permissions as roles change, and securely deactivating accounts during offboarding.
Our team ensures that each account is provisioned with the correct access to departmental systems, shared drives, applications, and other IT resources based on university and college policies. We also coordinate with campus identity and access management systems to maintain data integrity and security compliance.
Whether you’re requesting access for a new hire, modifying an existing user’s permissions, or reporting a separation, the Account Management service provides a streamlined, secure process to handle account lifecycle needs.

- New Account Setup: Create new user accounts and assign role-based access to appropriate systems and resources.
- Access Modifications: Update permissions when employees change roles, departments, or project responsibilities.
- Account Deactivation: Securely remove or disable access upon employee departure or project completion.
- Security Compliance: Account actions follow UC Davis cybersecurity and data protection policies.
- Centralized Management: A single point of contact for all account-related requests within the College of Engineering IT ecosystem.
