Before You Submit a Leave Request
Effective September 2025, in accordance with the UC Davis Good Standing Policy for Academics, Faculty must be in Good Standing to be eligible for sabbatical and professional development leaves. Before submitting a leave request, please ensure the following:
- You are up to date on UC mandatory trainings
- You have submitted a sabbatical report for all previous sabbaticals
- You have submitted all Annual Certifications
If you are unsure of your standing, please reach out to [email protected].
Required Training and Leave Planning
With the launch of the Mandatory Employee Training Compliance Program and enforcement of the UC Cyber Security Awareness Fundamentals training effective July 1, 2026, there have been several instances of employees being locked out of services immediately upon their return from leave.
To prevent this from happening, all employees are encouraged to review their training schedule in the UC Learning Center prior to going out on leave, whenever possible. If any trainings will expire during the leave period, there are multiple options to mitigate loss of access:
- Take the training prior to the start of the leave.
- Take the training while on leave.
- Take the training immediately upon your return from leave.
Each option has benefits and limitations. Please email us for more information.
