DAVIS, Calif.; Nov. 3, 2017 – The College of Engineering is pleased to welcome Aditi Risbud Bartl, a Ph.D. materials engineer turned science communicator, as the college’s new director of marketing and communications.
A seasoned communications professional, Aditi has more than a decade of experience exploring and communicating the implications of technological breakthroughs to a broad audience, including the media, policy makers and the general public. Aditi is especially interested in emerging fields at the frontiers of science.
Prior to joining UC Davis, Aditi was a science communications officer at the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation in Palo Alto. She also spent several years at the University of Utah as a senior communications and marketing officer in the College of Engineering and as the director of the college’s Communication, Leadership, Ethics and Research (CLEAR) program designed to prepare engineering students through courses in technical writing and communication. She held a faculty position in the college’s Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering from 2013-2015.
Aditi received a B.S. in materials science and engineering from UC Davis, a Ph.D. in materials from UC Santa Barbara, and a certificate in science communication from UC Santa Cruz.
